Humpback Whale Caught In Prawn Gear
A small humpback whale became entangled in a string of commercial prawning gear near the mouth of Knight Inlet. The prawners discovered that they had a problem when they returned to pull their traps that had been soaking overnight. The Department of Fisheries arrived and after over a day long struggle the whale was finally freed in Queen Charlotte Sound near the mouth of the inlet.
